my favourite thing about marvel movies is the sense of unity between the people who know to stay until after the credits

every time i see someone at the helm of a project with an enthusastic fanbase drop a “but this really isn’t for the fans” or try to ~distance~ their work from its fan following, i want someone to throw together an ad for like, idk, pepsi? with a voiceover going “pepsi: not for people who already like pepsi!!” or “hey pepsi drinkers, get lost!!” so i can send it to these people in the hopes of highlighting the ridiculousness of this advertising strategy
it’s not that i don’t get the theory behind trying to communicate that your [insert thing here] can be enjoyed whether you go into it as a fan or not, but you catch more flies with honey than you do with alienating your vocal tireless free publicity machine whose members often possess considerable purchasing power, is all i’m saying here
scifigrl47 : #fricking novel concept #Remember this isn’t for the people who’ve supported this franchise for years! #that would just be silly #They QUESTION THINGS #And have expectations#and want development and character integrity #I would’ve enjoyed this franchise so much more if they had just done the logical thing and entitled it SUPER SHINEY SPACE FUNTIME LENS FLARE

If you’re having a rough day, just remember that we live in a world where yarn-bombing exists.
